How to use the application?
At the bottom of the screen you have access to the main functionalities.
Setting area
Within the settings you can:
- Setup or change a Dailyplaces account
- Setup or change your Twitter account to forward your POIs to your followers
- Decide radius of displayed POIs around current position (from worldwide to 1 kilometre)
- Decide if you want to store all photos within the iPhone album
- Set map view (map, satellite, hybrid)
Refresh the POI list
By clicking the refresh button latest POIs are loaded.
Locate the position
By clicking locate position the current location is calculated. The accuracy depends on the quality of the GPS signal. POIs nearby are based on the current position of the user.
Change view (map & list, map, list)
Within the application we offer three types of POI views: map & list, only map and only list). You can change the view by clicking the change view button.
Create a POI
To create a POI just click at the right button at the bottom of the screen.
How to sort POIs?
All / Following / My
There are three different options to filter the POI results and to get an overview on the POIs. It’s possible to show all POIs from other users, only POIs from people you are following and just the POIs created by yourself. To refine the search it’s possible to minimize the radius of POIs that should be displayed within the settings area.
Time / Distance
All POIs can be sorted either by time or by distance. If POIs are sorted by time recent POIs were displayed within the application. By clicking the sort by distance button all POIs are sorted by the distance from your current position. That’s a good way to investigate POIs and users nearby.
